I was able to use Trekbuddy to add the OpenCycle map to my Oregon. I also added the OpenStreetMap for the GVRD
I recommend the Vancouver/Whistler city explorer – that will enable routing for driving directions. It’s a 10 dollar map at Garmin.
The Backcountry Mapbook sells a SD card with a BC wide map for hiking.
When “save place as” I can’t save as jpg … only kmz or kml . Placing the kmz file on the Garmin gave me no results.
You have to save as “kmz”. The file has to be placed within ?:\garmin\CustomMap\ (you have to create the folder) “?:” is the drive name of the garmin device.
My Oregon 450 says “Image too big” and does not load the custom map. Apparently Oregon will not take more than 1024×1024 size JPG images within the KMZ. Any video instructions on how to use MAPC2MAPC or other tools to deal with this limitation would be greatly appreciated.
@VancouverDriver
